A note from our Director and Owner, Tiffany Diaz

“In the early 2000s, while pursuing my second degree and working with the Department of Education, I felt a deep desire to make a greater impact. I knew the best place to start was within my own community.

This passion led to the founding of My First Steps in 2011. Beginning as a humble residential childcare program, I dedicated myself to providing a nurturing environment where children could thrive. Over the years, my unwavering commitment to the field has extended to community advocacy work, forming partnerships with other programs, and organizing family engagement events.

The vision for My First Steps has always been clear: to create a program where parents feel confident that their children are not only safe but are also gaining valuable skills. Regardless of age, developmental stage, race, or economic background, every child at My First Steps receives a high-quality educational experience rooted in love, respect, and care.

My passion remains focused about shaping the future of education and continues to advocate for the well-being and development of all children in my community and look forward to see what the NEXT STEPS WILL BE….”

Tiffany Diaz brings over 15 years of experience in Early Childhood Education, holding a degree in Business Administration and Behavioral Science. She is also an Accredited NAFCC Observer and proudly serves on the NYC Small Business Advisory Board.
